Maths is necessary
Engineering or BTech is based on mathematics. A good understanding or a basic knowledge in mathematics at 10+2 level will be handy in the first year of BTech. Basics of calculus and statistics helps students grab the lectures more quickly.
If you are not that great at maths, no need to worry. Your programming skills will land you on a better position.
Struggling to cope with Programming language
Programming Language is a must learn skill in todays scenario. Since you a student of computer science/Information technology or expecting to pursue this stream, learning the basics of coding would be better.
This really takes time to master.
Never panic for not learning the entire concept of any programming language. Keep on practicing the basics until you develop a habit.
DRY-RUN your code: Use the basic flow chart or draw control flow lines to guide yourself through the code process.
A proper system/computer setup/laptop
Most of the students wait for the classes to commence and then they decide to buy one. It’s better to have one before the classes start. Knowing the functionalities and operation of few software will always keep you ahead.
Notepad, MS word, MS excel, MS PowerPoint are the software one must know. This will help in keeping notes of lectures, assignments completion, presentation for seminars and project reports etc.
Sometimes the colleges provide the laptops to students. Sometimes the laptops are delivered late and to make the matter worse the laptop might have some manufacturing defects. To have another device or setup as backup is a wise decision.
A computer with better configurations makes your work easier.
Please consider buying a Windows based computer or a MacBook is far better choice. Avoid purchasing a ChromeBooks. Most of the software you are going to use are comfortably supported by Microsoft’s Windows and Apple’s IOS.
